I made a reservation, on the app it said it was not confirmed by the company. No one shows up at the airport, when I finally found the phone number of the Company called and they said the car was not available. Contacted RentCars on the app and they said they would cancel the reservation but charging 20% penalty. It just doesn’t make sense

We rented a car for a couple of days in Malta. I made the booking online and we were quoted a price of about €80 with a company called Yours. This was the cheapest economy car they had. We had to pay a deposit of around €40 and the rest at pick-up according to the booking. I have input driver age etc at the booking as I know the insurance cost is higher under 25. The booking also said additional drivers are free with the full insurance cover we chose. When we got to the pick-up point, a lady sat us down and started writing all sorts of extra costs down, therefore, instead of paying the rest of the quote, we had to pay about €140 more before they let us take the car. Oh, and it’s worth mentioning that this was for one driver only, if we wanted to add me as a driver alongside my partner it would have been an extra around €85 (on a booking that promised free additional drivers that was meant to cost €80 altogether for 5 days). To top it off, we had some car trouble, they sent us roadside assistance where the very nice gentleman who came to rescue us and do a jumpstart tested the battery and told us it has very low voltage so it needs to be checked by a mechanic and we need to tell the rental company when we hand it back, they charged us €50 at hand-off even though we got the fullest coverage insurance imaginable. When you book through rent cars, especially as a young person, expect to pay double in undisclosed fees even after already telling them your age prior to booking. I think as a broker it is their responsibility to make sure you are aware of the costs you will have to pay on arrival.

The person who managed my reservation at the location decided not to accept my drivers license. I went to another rental at the same exact location and they explained that this happens when they do not know the criteria to accept them.

In my view, a company of Despegar.com’s stature should not be doing business with “pirate” companies like Boutique Rent a Car. I only became aware of this at the time of returning the vehicle. To date, I have not received a refund of this amount. Should it not be promptly released, I formally request the restitution of this sum.Consumer Rights and TrustThese events have caused me considerable financial harm and eroded my trust as a consumer. Getting there was easy peasy! The car wasn’t the exact one I reserved, but it was the same kind. It wasn’t perfect—a brake light was wonky, and it creaked a bit—but the inside was pretty clean. My full coverage insurance was a lifesaver. Someone scratched the bumper, but it was totally covered, and my deposit dropped to €100 instead of €750! I got my deposit back super fast, right back on my card that day.

I COULD NOT RENT THE CAR & NOT REFUND BACK YETI am 41 y.o. and I rented a car by this website on Feb 11th in Miami, when I get to the front desk, the men in charge told me they couldn´t rent me by RentCars, since my Chilean driver license was written in Spanish instead of English, telling me it was a rule from RentCars, so I couldn´t rent the car there. Also, I´ve just reviewed my credit card account and I have not received the refund yet, even I called and emailed the company, which told they will refund 100%, so PLEASE I WANT MY REFUND BACK PS 1: I have to pay 2 Uber rides to go to the rent a car for nothing, wasting a lot of time there as well.

THE WORST EXPERIENCE EVER
Everything was an absurdity with GREEN MOTION company. Absolutely no one was there to meet us when we arrived. Two adults and a baby were left stranded at Johannesburg Airport until midnight, asking every security guard for help in trying to call the rental company—whose office didn’t even exist at the airport—and no one answered. After almost two hours of waiting, a man finally showed up and took us to an “office,” which turned out to be a shack near the airport. And this was at midnight, with a baby, because he had forgotten the car seat we had requested.We experienced the greatest fear of our lives, surrounded by several men speaking their language to us inside that house. We only left at 1:00 AM, even though we had scheduled the pickup for 10:30 PM at the airport.On the way back, they asked us to notify them when we were heading to the airport so they could collect the car, and once again, no one responded. After 40 minutes of trying to reach them, we arrived at the airport and finally got a message from a man instructing us to leave the car with any random worker wearing orange on the G3 floor.Later, I received an email with a return document, and where I was supposed to have signed, there was a forged signature that looked nothing like mine, as if I had personally signed the drop-off!Absolutely unbelievable from start to finish! It is shocking that Rent a Car has this company registered! Leaving two women and a baby alone for two hours at the airport of one of the most dangerous cities in the world, without contacting us, without answering, then taking us to a shack they called an office, and only releasing us at 1 AM left us shaken for the rest of the night and completely ruined the first days of our trip!!!

I made a reservation. First of all, there was no filtering connected with the age of the driver. So, I made a reservation and it appeared to be wrong, because the company doesn’t give cars to people aged 22 (I have license since 18). First reservation was made in 3 months before trip and was 100 euro for 8 days with a big car. But I realized that I booked it with 2 extra days: 20-28, but I needed 21-27. So, any adequate person will suggest that I can just change the booking, because the correct dates are inside the period: I just needed one day later and to return one day earlier. But no, this “wonderful” service don’t give you such possibilities! I thought, hmmm, okay, I can leave the booking as is, I’ll grab the car just next day. But no again! You can be late not more than for 30 minutes, than the time you book for, after 30 minutes their ***** system automatically canceles the booking!!! I realized it and wen5 to support. They a able to change your booking too! The only thing they are useful for I’d creating new bookings! And support was the only place I got info about age limits from!! So, it was 2-3 weeks before the trip and my new booking cost me 220 euro for 7 days!!! ×2 and the shorter period!! I spent 3 hours to do that, because their support is so slow! They just write you a single sentence and disappear for 15 minutes!!!! You give them all the info, they ignore it, and then they ask every piece of information separately: you give your phone, passport, dates, everything- they ask what is your phone – 15 minutes- they ask what are your dates – 15 minutes- they ask for you passport- 15 minutes… Aaaaaaaaaaaaaa, SUCH A HELL, I WANT TO SWEAR SO MUCH TO DESCRIBE THIS ******* EXPERIENCE!!!!!BUT BECAUSE IT WAS 3 HOURS I found a mistake! The new booking was still for the 20th, not 21st, as I needed! It was my mistake, I gave an approval. And I had to experience it again!!!!! Oh my god, I really wanted to cancel everything, such a depression, because of this ******* service that can’t work properly! We rebooked it again, it was a little car, manual, for….. 400 euro for 6 days!!!! Because those idi**s aren’t able to make a simple change of dates!!! SIMPLE! CHANGE! OF! DATES! IN! THE! SAME! PERIOD! THE CAR WAS THE SAME, EVERYTHING THE SAME! I was traveling from UK to New Zealand and a hire car was absolutely vital for transport to different rural locations. Everything was confirmed and deposit paid. Being that this car was vital for our plans I kept in touch with the rental company who confirmed the booking was fine a week before the trip. Rentcars even sent me a confirmation 10 days before saying the booking was ok and ready to go. Out of nowhere Rentcars then cancelled the booking, placing the blame on the rental provider who firmly objected and confirmed it was not them that cancelled. I got a call from an agent at Rentcars to tell me they had accidentally cancelled the booking. Even though this was entirely their error they have refused to accept any responsibility leaving me stranded. They showed no concern for the desperate situation they had left me in as no cars were available through the usual booking methods. When I landed in Nelson NZ I went to Hertz who I had also been in contact with and they saved the day providing a car and even upgrading it for free. Mistakes happen but it’s how you try to resolve them that counts. Rentcars have point blank refused to consider any complaint saying they have refunded me and that’s all they will do. Terrible heartless company I will actively avoid going forward because if something goes wrong they will wash their hands of you and won’t care in the slightest.

i selected month and date hour was pre set at 10I didn’t feel it would be difficult to change time of day as rental period remained the same.Our flight was arriving at 13:40 so 10 was not going to work so I selected 14:30 and changed the return to 13:30 . To my surprise the rental went from 65 to 215obviously I bailed .

We booked a car by Rental Cover / Rent Cars, and we arrived at the La Paz airport, in Mexico, and there weren’t any small economic car, on Mex company. So the only option they gave us was to rent another higher class car that will cost an extra, that was the double of the price we already paid.5 five days have passed and we still don’t have a cancellation confirmation!
