We used homeschool boss for NWEA MAP testing for my homeschooled 4th grader. This was the first time we had ever done standardized testing, but the directions we received were easy to follow so we were able to complete the testing without any problems.

All around great experience for first time homeschoolers! Would have given 5 stars, but we couldn’t figure out how to enter a mixed number on the math tests, and I couldn’t get a response from them.

They communicated great about the sign in process, and the proctors were responsive and kind via text when we had a couple hiccups (on my end). Getting the test set up was well-explained and simple. No glitches with the testing.

Testing with homeschool boss was straightforward. The process was thoroughly explained, steps were easy, and feedback on my child’s performance was in depth and arrived less than 24 hours after testing was complete. It contained specific examples of how to work on areas where he tested lower. This is a great resource to begin your homeschool journey, especially given the reasonable cost.

It was super easy. I would have liked the option to test later in the afternoon, at least up unitl 5pm.

Homeschool Boss and their MAP Growth Assessments are AMAZING! My daughter is 6 years old and receives the PEP scholarship through Step Up for Students and their testing requirement for renewal, not only intimidated me, but I don’t agree with requiring a test for a child at such a young age. The MAP Growth assessment completely changed my mind! It is not invasive, it is “untimed”, and gave both my daughter and I a major confidence boost in our homeschooling routine. It’s helped shape the second half of our school year and we are excited to take it again come June 2025. Thank you Homeschool Boss for offering this amazing adaptive assessment.

Easy and smooth process for my 3rd grader.

Staff was very helpful, and attentive when assistance was needed. It didn’t take long to receive assistance when it was needed. I only hoped that someone would explain the results of the examination, but it’s fine.

This was a wonderful and pain free testing experience for first-time standardized testers. Having the results quickly was so encouraging and we will definitely be adding this in to our homeschool annually or bianually to track our kiddos’ trends.

I enjoyed the set up of the exams. The prompt texts before the time of the exam were great. I will say the reading portion of the exam was more advanced than I thought a 4th grader could comprehend . It was overwhelming and caused my son distress.

Ease of ordering, testing, and reading results!

The test was very easy to set up and when my child exited out of the test by mistake, help was only a phone call away. Very easily remedied.

Overall a great experience! There was a minor hiccup on the second test day when starting the test: my child’s name wasn’t listed. I had to contact them about the issue but they were polite and fixed it immediately and it was no more than a minor inconvenience. Received our raw scores immediately after the test and the full report the following day. 4.5/5

Seamless process and great service

We decided to go through with the NWEA Map testing for our child and signed up for them. We were able to schedule our own date and time. On the day of test we received all login information and messaging our proctor about any questions was also very easy and they were very quick to respond which made this whole process a great experience.

I like that it tracks the students’ progressI did not like that it ask question above grade level, which in turn causes frustration from the child taking the test. It did not at all show my child’s knowledge on other things besides basic public-school standards. However, that is why they need to make a test specifically dedicated to homeschoolers. Homeschool Boss is an amazing company, the testing process was flawless. I just wish the actual test was geared towards the intelligence of a homeschool child.

This worked so well and was extremely cost-effective. I now have a much better understanding of what my child needs. And it was not what I expected! It is great that the test allows for no ceiling and is very targeted on a subject by subject basis. Homeschool Boss was very easy to work with. I added a test late and move the time as needed for my schedule. I appreciate how flexible and easy to work with it was.

I was a little nervous to test my kiddos but the company made it easy to explain and test. It was simple to administer and the proctor was immediately available when we had a couple minor glitches either from our internet or the test not sure where the issue was but it was quickly resolved with a direct line phone call. I feel that we received a quality product. I’m happy to have this data point to reassure me that we’re on target.
